Tour Campiña

We begin at the wonderful Chilina viewpoint, where you can clearly see Arequipa’s three guardian volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichupichu, also known as Indio Dormido (Sleeping Indian). It’s also an excellent spot to observe the great variety of green hues and the typical agricultural terraces. We continue down to the Yanahuara viewpoint, a strategic and interesting location for observing the city center and admiring the various churches and convents. After a while, we head towards the traditional town of Cayma to see its beautiful church and arcades. Next, we visit the Incalpaca textile factory and its mini-zoo of South American camelids. Continuing on, we head towards Huasacache, a traditional location where the Founder’s Mansion is located. This was the first estate of Arequipa’s first mayor, an old and very well-preserved house. Following the route, we arrive at the Sabandía Mill, where the early inhabitants of the colony ground corn and wheat, offering a true glimpse into the Arequipa countryside. Finally, we will pass through the authentic terraces of Paucarpata, an excellent place to admire the marvelous agricultural terraces of this traditional district of Arequipa. At the end of the visit, you will be taken back to the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa.
